Christmas Vacation 2008: Day Four
Destination: Universal StudiosToday was half a lazy day. We decided that we’d catch up on some zzz’s and sleep in. Once we got up we had a leisurely breakfast and then Jer, Erin and I rented a canoe and took it out on the lake that resort is on. That was pretty fun and it was also some good exercise. We saw no alligators here in alligator country so that was also a plus! Then I hung out at the pool with Luke, Dominic, Holly and Nana (a.k.a. Mom) and we did some arts and crafts that consisted of painting a wooden car and birdhouse. Luke did a great job and really got into using the animal foam stickers to decorate his birdhouse. Once that was done, he hopped in the pool with Holly and Nana and went for a swim. That a
fternoon, we had planned on visiting my grandfather but he wasn’t feeling well so we decided to go to Universal Studios. Again, I didn’t remember much about it and it was so neat to see everything. There is so much to do and see there from restaurants to try and rides that make you fly. The first place we headed to was the Islands of Adventure. We spent the time in Dr. Seuss land which was like stepping onto a movie set. So cool! We rode on the Caro-Seuss-al first and then headed over to the Cat in the Hat ride that spun us around through the tale of that rainy day that brought the Cat and his friends (Thing One and Thing Two) inside the house while mom was out! After the Cat in the Hat, we went to the Trolley in the sky that took us around Seuss land on an elevated track. This was neat too, although by the time we got into the train, it was dark so it was a little bit creepy. After this ride, we headed out to eat at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville. It was yummy and a nice way to end a good day. We had great food and good dessert and we headed home to get some sleep so that we could get up early and head out to Disney World the next day! Enjoy some photos of our day below!
