ArtSpark 2009
Every year in downtown Raleigh, there is an art festival called ArtSpark. This year, Matt and I attended mainly because they have "street painting" on Fayetteville Street. It consists of people of all ages...from the pros all the way down to the tots, "painting" the street with chalk drawings. All up and down the street, hundreds of people painted their alloted amount of space. The colors were amazing and some of the drawings were outstanding. Along with the street painting, they had a graffiti area where artists signed up to do graffiti on plywood stands. That was our other favorite part. There was live music, a hoola hoop competition and an outdoor craft market. This festival lasts 3 days and features much more than we saw, but the little bit we did see was pretty amazing. After the festival, we stopped at The Cupcake Shoppe to use a gift card our wedding photographer gave to us for 2 delicious snacks. Yum! Enjoy the photos of
our day spent downtown...
