New Bird On The Block

There's a new bird on the block. He's a Red-headed Woodpecker and he has taken a liking to our suet feeder! I noticed him a day ago, when his red head caught my eye. One of the many benefits from not working outside the home is that I can work from the comfort of my living room, looking out my windows.  Matt and I have become rookie bird watchers, ever since we put up a new feeder on our porch. It has attracted many birds of all kinds, but as of yesterday, never a Red-headed Woodpecker. We've had our fair share of the Downy Woodpecker, but never a Red-head! These are some beautiful but timid birds...my attempt at getting pictures has been less than par. So, I'll keep trying to sneak up on them as often as I see them. For right now, you'll have to settle for a grainy, blurry photo of our newest Red-headed friend, taken with the digital zoom, from our living room, through our window. Yuck!
